How to Insert Fields into Headers

I want to know if it is possible to insert Field entries
into Headers.

We are creating a form to be used as a template. We have
information in the header that we would like the users to
be able to enter so that it repeats on all pages of the
document. Can this be done using field entries or is
there another option.

Why on earth didn't you just try it? Yes, it works exactly as expected, with
one proviso: selecting the document and pressing F9 to update fields doesn't
update the headers and footers. You need to do that separately.

We did try it! When in the header the Field Entries are
greyed out and you can't select them. We are currently
using Office 2000. Would that make a difference? If you
have any other suggestions on how to make this work they
would be appreciated.

Try ctrl-F9. or copy and paste from the body of the document. Seems odd --
my headers and footers are almost nothing but fields; and Insert Fields
isn't normally greyed out when you're in a header or footer.
