How to insert non-WAV music be insert in to powerpoint 2003

Hi Guys,
I've found the way to insert WAV music to power point.
But I've problem to insert music in MP3, WMA MIDI etc format to powerpoint.
When I go --> Modify Transition --> Sound --> Other sound
a wndow wll pop-up for me to pick a music from my music file.
But those music in non-WAV format will not show.
If I change the "File of type" to "All files", then those non-WAV icon will
show in the pop-up window.
But if I pick one of those music, a message window will show powerpoint
could not accept.
Anyone could teach me in steps how to convert non-WAV music to WAV format.
