Hello all,

I'm a teacher moving from a pc to a mac enviorment and have run across a problem. On my copy of Word 2007, I have some macros defined that insert some predefined text into a word comment; there is one for fragments, one for runons, one for comma splices, and so on. These macros are run via buttons on the quick access tool bar.

I understand that Mac doesn't support macros, but was hopping there would be a workaround for 2008 on the mac.

Please let me know if you've developed a similar function in Word 2008 and how you did so.

Thanks,

A

It isn't that *Mac* doesn't support macros, the roadblock is that Office
2008 doesn't support VBA.

Until VBA is restored in the next release of Office there are at least 4
options to consider:

Obtain Office 2004, which does support VBA, or

Use Insert> Comment (to which you can assign a keystroke), type the first 4
letters of the AutoText then press Cmd+Opt+V, or

Add the items to the Scrapbook & insert them into new Comments, or

Look into the possibility of automating with AppleScript.

Perhaps someone else has other possibilities to suggest.

Check out TypeIt4Me - I'm a fan of the program.
