How to install Office 2003 Standard when Outlook2003 is installed

Hello, I hope I am in the right newsgroup, it is the only one I found for
Office. I have Windows XP Pro sp2 computer and at the present time I have
Office 2000 Pro installed without Outlook 2000 Pro installed. I have Outlook
2003 standalone installed and I was able to update Outlook 2003 standalone
to sp2 by downloading the 50 MB Client update. The system is working great
and very stable. Well I received Office 2003 Standard from Santa. What is
the best way to install my new Office 2003 Standard? Should I uninstall both
Office 2000 Pro and Outlook 2003 sp2. The Office 2003 Standard is not an
upgrade it is the full program. I have all document and files backed up and
I have a program that backs up Outlook and I have a complete backup of
Outlook 2003 standalone. Thanks for any help or advice.

Dan, you should be able to simply -install- the Office 2003 Standard right
from the CDROM.

It will ask you if you want to upgrade (replace) or keep the installed
Office 2000 products. If you choose upgrade, it will replace
(remove/uninstall) the Office 2000 products. If you choose keep, you'll have
both versions available. You can then uninstall Office 2000 at your
convenience.

It should simply overwrite the existing Outlook 2003 program files,
effectively removing your Outlook 2003 SP2 installation. No harm here,
you'll need to re-install SP2 anyway for the rest of the Office 2003 product
suite.

When you install SP2 for the Office 2003 Standard, the Outlook 2003 will
also be updated.
