how to keep text from moving when typing

I don't know if I worded that correctly, but my problem is
this. We have made a form with blanks on it and when you
go to put something in the blanks it moves the whole line
making it all out of wack! I know there is a way to fix
this, but cannot figure it out. We tried protecting the
document and track changes, this does not work. Anyone's
help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance
