How to line up graphics and text on labels?

I have MS Word 2002. I'm trying to make address labels that will have a
picture on the far left and text off to the right. Whenever I insert
picture, it won't let me move the picture; I can resize it, which I don't
want to do, but I can't move it. Also, it sends the text all over the place
and makes it all out of whack. I know this must be quite simple, but right
now it's beyond me how to do this. Would someone be so kind as to give me
idiot-proof instructions on how to do this.

BTW, I have downloaded the Avery Wizard, which I like, but it doesn't do
anything with graphics, just the text.

Thanks so much for any help. :)
