how to link...mov in web page...help

Hi all,
i am desperately tryin to insert a mov file in my webpage but it keeps
saying that their is an error....i can view it after clicking the link
on my page, then i go to file and select the document...but then no one
else can view it because they do not have it saved on their hard
drive.....what do i do

help!!!

Hey del luce,

You may want to ask this question on a group more focused on Web Pages than
PowerPoint. But let me give it a shot...

MOV file format is a proprietary Apple Computer file format. They get very
testy if you try to convert it to something else or make a player that reads
it. Therefore, you are forced to include a link to Apple's site so your web
visitors can down load their 36 MB movie viewer.

When you install their viewer, it tends to take over more than just the MOV
file format and adds programs that load when your computer boots and run in
the background all the time, so I don't like it, but that is just me.
Personally, I would recommend replacing or re-recording the movie in a
format that 'plays well with others'.
