How to link to local file in OneNote when path contains spaces?

I'm trying to link word documents into my One NOte notebook.
1) Type MyFile.doc = file:\\c:\documents & settings\foldername....

OneNote doesn't recgnize anything beyond documents as being part of the link.

Enclose the path in quotes if you're typing the path manually.

An easier way is to drag the file onto the page, where you will get a list
of options including "insert link to original file". Let OneNote do the
work for you!
