How to link to other instances

Hello all,

He have a number of project files in Project Web Server. From the project
detail, we'd like to be able to link to an instance of SharePoint (outside of
our Project Web Server) where we keep documents related to that project.

We were thinking there must be a way to do that though the Go To > Documents
menu item, but did not know how. Any suggestions would be appreciated?

Sincerely,
Chris

Project workspaces must exist in the same SSP as PWA. You could use
something like Biztalk to copy files betweeb different sharepoint farms.

There's no way to do this out of the box... the Documents menu item is
intended to be used for the Project Workspaces feature.

I would recommend you seriously consider using the Project Workspaces
to store your project-related documents.

Hi,

As the rest suggested you cannot edit the Go To documents link, however if
you want to link the documents on another sharepoint workspace you could use
something simple such as a hyperlink field in your project schedule and
specify the link to the documents there.
You could also get this link to show in Project Web Access in the Project
views.

Alternatively if you have the project workspaces created under the same PWA
instance then from the workspace you could use the links web part and specify
a link in this web part to the other SharePoint document library.
