How to link workbooks?

In 2008 workbooks, they are not linking? what do I do? (I am new to this program, I have a book on order and it's getting frustrating)

I understand how you feel, but in order for anyone to assist you need to
calm down and provide a thorough & accurate description of the situation.
What it is that you are trying to do, how you are going about it, what is
happening as opposed to what it is that you expect as well as what OS
version & type of Mac you're using.

You are frustrating us with your lack of detail in your question. What do
you mean not linking? What are you trying to accomplish? How are you doing
this? What is Excel doing/not doing that you expected otherwise?
