Dear all,

In sheet 1 of *myfile.xls*, i have coordinates in meters

Col. A Col. B Col. C Col. D Col. E Col. F
X Y A B C D
ROW 1 11.5 2.3 1 2 3 TRUE
ROW 2 12.5 3.3 1 2 3 TRUE
ROW 3 13.5 4.3 1 2 3 TRUE
ROW 4 14.5 5.3 1 2 3 TRUE
ROW 5 15.5 6.3 1 2 3 TRUE

Is it possible to link/use the above table in the scratch section on one of
my shape sheet ? I need these X & Y & D values for my shape's on&off
appearance on parts of the unified geometry.

Please suggest how.

with my best regards,

The task will be much easier with Visio 2007 Professional's data linking
capabilities (refer to
http://office.microsoft.com/en-us/visio/HA100518191033.aspx
and the four data linking training modules here
http://office.microsoft.com/en-us/training/CR101109221033.aspx)

However, if Visio 2007 is not an option, take a look at
Tools/Add-ons/Visio Extras/Database Wizard.

IMHO, you'll save far more time than the several hundred dollar cost of the
upgrade by going directly to Visio 2007 Pro and not bothering with the
database wizard.
