How to lock an object in a Word document so it won't move to page

I really could use someone's help please. I have a company letterhead with a
graphic about two inches from the bottom of the page. We have to indent text
to go around it by placing an object on the template in place of where the
graphic would be. That is not a problem. The problem we are having is the
object moving with the text (even though we have unselected that option) to
the second page, and cutting and pasting in various places in the document
also causes the object to move to the second page.

Any suggestions on how to keep the object from moving?

Letters normally have some fixed text on page one (such as the date and the
addressee). Make these the first paragraphs on the first page, anchor your
graphic to one of the them, and lock the anchor.
