How to lock cell value

Operating System: Mac OS X 10.4 (Tiger)
Processor: Intel

Hi, i cannot lock the value of a cell i Excel, the CMD+T shortcut do not work, how can this be? And can anyone tell my what menu to choose to do it the hard way, essential feature that will not work, and i need it to bad, please help

What do you mean by " lock the value of a cell "? Command+T is the keyboard
shortcut for applying Absolute Reference, which can also be accomplished by
typing the $ in the appropriate positions in the formula.

If you do mean absolute reference & the keystroke isn't working make sure
you have Office (12.1.5) & OS X (10.4.11) fully updated, repair disk
permissions & restart the Mac. See if the problem clears up. If not - or if
this isn't what you're referring to - reply with a more thorough & accurate
description of what the actual problem is.
