how to make a letter for replacement of old machine shop equipmen

Hi, I am the only machinist that works for the city and I am not good in
making letter, i need a letter to replace 3 major machine in my department,
machines we have are not capable of cutting/fabricating the material we use
and very slow, i fabricate parts the hardway (stone age style) not accurate
and not safe. I need a letter of request that will gives them (supervisors &
manager)the attention, please help. Thanks

That is an *excellent* suggestion! I think we often forget that the local
library (that wonderful old brick building filled with books) is a great
