How to make an automatic backup of the db when the db is opened

I have searched the discussion group trying to figure out a way to
automatically create a backup when you enter a database, or even periodically
have access run a backup. Has anyone done this successfully that would share
the syntax or code on how to do this. It would greatly be appreciated.

It is a bad idea to backup any file while it is in use, and an Access
database file is not an exception. It will work 99% of the time; is
that good enough for you?
If yes you can schedule msbackup.exe to perform this backup on a set
interval. The topic is also covered in the Windows help file.

It is a bad idea to backup any file while it is in use, and an
Access database file is not an exception.

That is, if you use the file system (though volume shadow copy,
introduced in WinXP, is going to increase the likelihood of getting
a good file, it just may not be the version of the file that you
think you're backing up).

If you're using Jet to copy the data to a backup MDB using Jet
commands, it's perfectly OK to do it on a live copy, though you'd
need to be careful about making sure you get data that won't violate
referential integrity.
