How to make Excel show duplicate rows???

Hi everyone,

would you happen to know how I can make Excel show me automatically i
there are duplicate rows in a list?

I have to go through a huge file and find all duplicate names. I d
have one LAST NAME column and one FIRST NAME column.

What I'm doing is I've sorted the list by LAST NAMES and now I'm goin
through the LAST NAME column and as soon as I see that there is th
same name twice, I'll compare them against the first name to find ou
if they are different people.

Any ideas how Excel can show me automatically all LAST NAMES that ar
equal?????

Thanks so much for any advice, it'll save me days of work.
Thanks, Chri

Hi Chric

in column C insert
=COUNTIF($B$1:$B$999;B1)
and copy this formula for all rows
Now you can sort column C (descending) and see all duplicates at the
top

Another solution would be to use 'Data - Filter - Advanced filter' and
create a new list without duplicates
