How to make main task 100% completed

Client has a Project plan. There is a main task with some subtasks. All the
subtasks are marked 100% completed but the main task only shows 85%. We've
tried going into the main task and changing it from 85% to 100% but the
change is not applied. Any ideas why that task is not changing to 100%?

Are there any externaly linked tasks to another project? If there are are
they also complete?

Make sure you are setting the correct item to 100%. There are three
potential items: %Complete, %Work Complete, Physical%Complete. Most of us
just use one of the first two.

When I run into this problem, what I find is that I have %Work Complete set
to 100% but %Complete totals something less becuase I have not completed the
work in time phase. Setting %Complete to 100% for all subtasks (including
linked projects) should correct the problem.

One more thing I will add to Jim and Saratoga's responses. Do you have
any zero duration milestones under the summary? If so, they need to be
at 100% also.

changed to manual instead of automatic!!!
