How to make punctuation appear darker on the monitor in Word 2007

Commas and other punctuation is difficult to see on the monitor as it is
lighter than the text. this is difficult for older people and vision impaired
to see. Is ther any way to make the punctuation appear the same as the text?

The clarity of punctuation characters in Word is directly attributable to
the font in use, the display driver and whether you are using ClearType
mode. In normal circumstances such punctuation is identical in clarity to
the surrounding text If you are having difficulty viewing what is on the
screen, change the zoom level until you can see it more clearly.
