How to mass delete Hyperlinks in W97?

Hi there,

I'm running Win98SE and I have a large table in a W97 document. One column
has text with hyperlinks in it. Each cell has different text. All that I can
do is right click on the hyper link and then left click my way though this
sequence - /hyperlink/edit hyperlink/delete hyperlink - one by one.

Is there a way to mass change the hyperlinks to plain text?

There are no other hyperlinks in the document that I want to save, so a
document wide solution would work too.

As I understand it, you don't actually want to delete the hyperlinks, just
convert them to plain text. If the hyperlinks are the only fields in the
document, press Ctrl+A (to select the entire document), then Ctrl+Shift+F9
to unlink fields. If the hyperlinks are just in the one table column (and
there are no other fields in that column), select the column and
Ctrl+Shift+F9. If there are other fields in the document/column, then here's
the quickest (still one-at-a-time) way to do it.

1. Alt+F9 to display field codes.

2. Ctrl+F to open the Find dialog.

3. In the "Find what" box, type ^19 HYPERLINK

4. Click the Find Next button. This will select the first hyperlink field.

5. Ctrl+Shift+F9 to unlink the field.

6. Close the Find dialog. From now on you can use the blue double arrows at
the bottom of the vertical scroll bar to Find Next/Find Previous.

7. Find Next.

8. F4 (repeat). Luckily Word does not repeat the Find but the Unlink Field
command.

9. Continue clicking the Find Next button and pressing F4 till you don't
find any more.
