How to "Match Destination Formatting" with key shortcut?

C

Hello, when you paste into a document, you will see the little popup
menu, and in there is the option to match destination formatting,
which is all I have ever selected, of course I want to match the
format being used.

The "D" in destination is underlined, making me thing it's a keyboard
shortcut. But when that menu appears I have tried ctrl-D, alt-D, and
nothing works. It's very time consuming for me to stop, grab the
mouse, and pop the menu down and select the correct choice.

Is there a way to make "match destination formatting" happen by
default all the time, with no popup menu?

If not, how to I invoke the keyboard shortcut to make this happen?

Thanks very much in advance for any assistance.

You can use Alt+Shift+F10 to display the Paste Options, or similar, button.

Also note if you are using Word 2007 you can now set your Paste Defaults in
Word Options on the Advanced tab.

Use the macro that Graham Mayor posted athttp://groups.google.com/group/microsoft.public.word.docmanagement/br...
and then you won't have to use the popup.

Thanks, but I have never used macros. The couple times I tried, I
didn't have much luck.

Thanks, it worked! after you press that chord, then just hit D before
releasing it and done!!!

You have saved me many, many, many reaching for the mouse moves in the
future. Many calories worth!

Thanks!

Jay, you wouldn't be willing to walk a newbie through doing this,
would you? On my own it scares me.
