I have several files in a MS Publisher 97. I'd like to "stitch" them back to

Please explain, not sure what you are asking.
Are you trying to create a booklet or are you asking about joining separate
publications together?
Stitching usually refers to binding not joining files...so you got me
confusted.

The only way to combine 97 files is the old copy/paste method. You can have any
number of Publisher 97 applications open at the same time.
You might have success using a PDF converter. www.primopdf.com is free, the
application might have this capability.

thanks for your suggestion. Do you mean I can merge two and more PDF files?
I prepared three separate large (about 200 pages each) pub files. Now my
outside printer suggested I put them in one file under 700 pages, so he can
print it in one volume. That's why I'd like these 3 file "stitch virtually"
or merge cover to cover... For now, I'm copying each page and paste it in a
new publication. Awful job! Hoped you or someone else could came with a
better idea ;-)

ah!...ok got it now.
you can concatenate Pub files or PDFs or just about any with Adobe Acrobat
Pro.
Acrobat Pro is a tad pricey...dunno if any of the pdf-wannabees offer this
feature.

installed Primo v.2 way back and used it occasionally to create PDF. But it
never crossed my mind to update it and discover that now it has this Append
to function! Thanks to your prodding I'm getting all 3 pub files combined in
