how to modify a linkbar in a template

How do you select and modify a template? I select a linkbar in what I suspect
is a template, but when I open Linkbar Properties, I get a dialog box that
has two tabs, General and Style but nothing affecting the actual linkbar
content.

Unless it's a custom linkbar, then it will "build itself" based on the
navigation structure. Go to Navigation view and start dragging your pages
over there...

The formats for the FP Nav bars are stored in the folder
C:\Program Files\Microsoft Office\Office10\1033\botstyle
In the file NAVBARS.INI
Make a copy of the file (for backup)
Add your own using one of the existing styles as a template
