I would like to modify an existing multishape to add a subshape and
connection points without destroying the existing multishape functionality or
level. How do you do this?
The example I have in mind is the "SPST" switch in stencil "EE - Switches
and Relays". I would like to create a new shape called "SPST Relay" by
adding a coil with two connection points under the existing multishape. I
want to do this without losing the "Open Circuit/Close Circuit" functionality
of the original "SPST" shape.
The original SPST is protected in some manner such that the "Add to Group"
and the "Accept dropped shapes" functionality does not work. So, how do I add
a new shape to the group without blowing away the original switch
functionality?
If I edit the master shape, I can add my new subshape and connection points,
then use the "Group" function to create a new shape, however, the
"Open/Closed" functionality is not available with the new top level shape -
it is now only available at the original shape level.
Is there a way to see the hierarchy of shapes and shapesheets within a
grouped shape?
If yes, is there a way to edit and add subshapes to a grouped shapesheet
hierarchy without destroying the top level group functionality?
