How to move a Project from one Project Server to another?

We have two project server environments. From time to time we have a need to
move a project from one Project Server to the other. What's the easy way to
do this?

Michael,

the way Faisal described is probably the easiest way to move a single
project from Server A to Server B. However, please consider that you will
lose all timesheet information when doing this (save as, import project
wizard). You will still be able to see actual work that has been reported by
the users for their assignments (e.g. in the OLAP cube), but actual work will
not show up in the timesheet of the respective user.

I hope you can live with that restriction... ;o)

I was wondering what might happen to resource assignments as well. So some
informaiton is lost using the "easy" method. Is there a more dificult method
that might retain more information?

Just a small correction to Marc's last message. After you import the
project into the new Project Server database, you must do the following so
that the previous timesheet info will show up on user's timesheets:

1. Click Collaborate - Publish - Republish Assignments
2. Select the "Overwrite actual work entered by resources" option
3. Click the OK button

This will "push" the actuals from the Microsoft Project plan to each user's
timesheet in PWA. Hope this helps.
