How to not send alerts for project

In Project 2003, you had the option of publishing the project plan, changed
assigments, or all information.

In Project 2007, there is only the "Publish" option. Is there a way when
you publish to NOT send out email alerts to everybody? I know they can
individually turn off their alerts for ALL projects, but I just don't want
them receiving alerts every time I publish this thing. Since I can't publish
only the project plan like in Project 2003, is this even possible?
