How to: OnNotInList event?

Hi all
I would like to use this event in order to allow new entries from a combobox
into a table.
With each new entry, corresponding values for other existing dependant
fields will have to be supplied.
I cannot figure out how to make this work properly
Could somebody explain and possibly supply a sample code?
