How to open a saved ".prn" file from PPoint 2002?

L

Les

I am trying to efficiently save a printed list of my slides (4 per A4 page)
which can be sent to others as an email attachment for their printing. When
I use "print to File" as my PPoint "Print" option I cannot later open the
resulting ".prn" file. Its as if the "prn" file type is unknown to all my
software applications. Any suggestions out there please?
Kind regards
Les

Well, Les, first of all you've posted to the group for PPt on the Mac :)
but your main problem is that .prn files aren't intended to be used by
anything other than the Windows OS for the purpose of being printed. You can
still send it but the recipients will have to print it out to see the
content.

You might have a look at the File> Send To> MS Word options & see if
something there might not be preferable.

For other options you might check in with the Widows PPt group - I don't
have 2002 available here:

You're using Windows, not Mac, correct? This is a Mac group. You really want
to post your questions in the regular PPT Windows group. But since we're here
...

A PRN file simply captures the data that Windows would ordinarily send to your
printer. No programs can open PRN files (with a few exceptions for PostScript
files). Unless someone else has the same printer you do and knows how to copy
PRN files to it (we just ruled out most of the planet) PRN files are pretty
much useless.

You'll probably be better off sending a PDF.
