How to Open Excel 1.0 files with Excel 10.0

I have just had Excel (v 1.0) files from my very old Mac Plus burned
onto a CD so I can access them with my Powerbook. I now realize that
opening these files in v.10 is not as easy as I had thought. I am not
sure what to do. Does anyone know what I should do? Thank you!

AFAIK, the only way to open XL1.0 files is to use XL1 or XL2. I don't
think that XL4 had a translator, but I could be wrong.

If you still have XL1 on your Mac Plus, save the files as SYLK files -
they can be opened in any version of XL.
