How to open shapesheet?

M

Mary S

I see many references to customizing a shape by opening and editing the
ShapeSheet. I have searched high and low in the Visio help and cannot find a
procedure that explains where the shapesheet is located and how to open it
for editing. Apparently it isn't that difficult, because I see many people
posting to this list as if it is an everyday thing for them.

What is the procedure for finding, opening, and editing a shapesheet?

Menu --> Window --> Show Shape Sheet

If a shape is selected then the shapesheet for that shape will be
shown, otherwise you will get the shapesheet for the page itself.

Mary,

If the previous post answered your question great. I just new to Visio, but
also wanted to see the shapesheet.

What I found in the help was to do the following.

right click the shape
select Format, then Behavior
click on the Double-Click tab
click on Open shape's ShapeSheet
then click OK

Now when you double-click on the shape, the shapesheet will open.

Hope this helps,

Doug

Mary,

Just found what you probably really want.

If you choose View, then Toolbars, select Developer

The 5th icon in the list will be Show ShapeSheet

Thanks Doug. Your tips were very helpful. The interface is quite
versatile, and which one is best to use seems to depend on my focus at the
time.
