How to Open WMF embeded windows word file on Mac Word X

I get files which are created on Word for Windows with WMF&EMF. If I try to
open the doc on Mac Word X, the graphics are distorted, lines break etc. The
same file if i open on Windows Word it is fine. I have G5 Macs and I am
compled to work on Mac.

Anyone can help me.

Hi Vasan:

WMF and EMF are converted to QuickDraw on the Mac.

The conversion is not perfect since the two formats are dissimilar.

You can get it a bit closer by ensuring that the Windows user employs only
Arial and Times New Roman as their fonts: you have copies of both on the
Mac, carefully crafted to match the PC fonts as closely as possible.

The only way to do a proper job would be to copy out of Word and fix the
picture in a proper graphics editor that can handle vector graphics.
