In Entourage's Inbox window > Folder listing, I have a Sub-Folder
(Tennis2009) full of past EMAILS about a future tennis team.
Now I’ve made a PROJECT (Tennis Team) for that tennis team.
I want all of the past emails in that Sub-Folder (Tennis2009) to show
up in the Project Center > Emails.
In the future, I want all of the new emails that I MOVE to that Sub-
Folder (Tennis2009) to show up in the Project Center > Emails.
I receive other emails from these Contacts that I do NOT want to show
in this Project.
It is ONLY the emails that I MOVE to the Sub-Folder (Tennis2009) that
I want to see in the Project > Mail area.
Question:
Is there a way to “associate” or “link” that Sub-Folder (Tennis2009)
to the Project (Tennis Team) so that all emails I dump into the Sub-
Folder show up in the Project Center > Emails?
How to make a Folder in the Folder List become a drop folder for
Project > Mail by somehow associating it or linking it to the
Project?
How to get the Project to recognize that folder?
What’s the best way to accomplish my objective of both MOVING to store
all the relevant emails in their own folder AND having them all SHOW
up in the Project > Mail view?
Here are the methods I tried so far:
Trial 1:
I suppose that I could select and open each email and select Project >
Tennis Team, but that’s a lot of individual opening and closing work.
Partial Answer:
Click ADD in Project > Mail.
Select the Sub-Folder, then select ALL emails. Click ADD.
Result: All past emails from that Sub-Folder now show up in Mail.
Well that was easy, but what about FUTURE emails?
Do I have to set each new email’s Project setting to Tennis?
If I dump new emails into the subfolder, I won’t know which ones I
already dragged to the Project or not.
Trial 2:
I tried dragging the Sub-Folder onto the desktop icon OFFICE PROJECTS
alias folder.
Result: It copied a Tennis2009.mbox file into the MUD folder > Office
Projects folder.
But nothing (no folder or file) shows up in the Project, including in
the Mail and Files tabs.
Trial 3:
If I grab all the past emails and drag them to the desktop icon OFFICE
PROJECTS alias folder, will they then show up in the Projects > Mail
area?
Answer: NO. I tried with just one past email. I successfully dragged
one email into OFFICE PROJECTS, but it doesn’t show up in the Project
at all.
Trial 4:
Can I move (drag) the desktop icon OFFICE PROJECTS alias folder into
the Inbox > Folder list area and make it into a storage folder?
Answer: NO. It won’t drag into that Folder Listing area.
