how to paste data when autofilter is on?

For my application, the autofilter filters 160 rows down to 50. Now I would
like to paste data in another column for those 50 rows. However when I do
this, data also gets pasted in hidden rows and does not correspond exactly to
the row where I wanted it to be pasted.
