Unfortunately after reading this I still can't figure out how to paste text
only.

I searched for "paste option" with the built-in help and found nothing
relevant.
I searched for "keep text only" with the built-in help and also found
nothing relevant.

There is no "paste options" button in onenote. There is only a "paste"
button which looks like the paste options button in the above article.

I'm using onenote 2007. Is "paste text" feature removed?? If not, could
someone kindly walk me thru on how to paste text only?

Once you have pasted text, at the bottom right of the pasted area do you see
the paste clipboard icon?

The paste option button pops up over the container after you've pasted and
hover over the container. Then you click on the little icon as you hover
over the pasted info and choose the little drop down arrow and click the
Keep Text Only radio button....then click the paste option button again and
choose Set as Default Paste

Thanks.

This is very tricky, and different from traditional apps where there is a
paste special... command. But it is more "object oriented" and makes the app
less clutter.

User-friendliness obviously has not been considered. A slightly more
friendly approach would be to put "paste option" in the help file so people
can find it.

I have to warn that this does not always do what is intended to do. It
happens I paste a text and some formatting is still kept.
I frequently find myself opening the notepad and pasting it there and copyng
it from the notepad and pasting it into ON.

So ON does NOT ALWAYS clear the formatting and keep the text only. there is
some inconsistency in pasting to notepad and pasting to ON!!!

I can confirm this.

Wouldn't it be easier to just re-format the pasted text?

Yes.

How about reporting a bug in Connect?
