I have the Junk email setting to No Automatic Filtering. I leave my system
on, with Outlook running most of the day. I have Outlook set to retrieve
mail about every hour. Once or twice a day, mail starts to go to the Junk
email folder. When I look at the filter setting, it still shows that it is
off. I can turn it off again by clicking the No Auto button (even though it
is already set), which activates the Apply button. Clicking Apply then
shuts off the filter until it somehow resets again that day, or the next.
This also happens when I fire up a fresh copy of Outlook. I have several
rules set up to auto delete mail based on content, to/from, subject, etc.,
and these rules don't run against mail going into the Junk email folder.
Of course, it wouldn't be a problem if I could run the rules prior to mail
going to the Junk mail folder.
