How to prevent connectors from sharing the same connection point

Hi... I am snapping my connectors to the object itself (dragging endpoints
into the middle of the objects). The page has many objects and even more
connectors, so this is the only sane way to handle all the connections.

Sometimes, when the conditions are right, an object with plenty of free
connection points will refuse to use them, and instead route 2 or more
connectors to the same connection point.

This behavior is very frustrating and tends to make a mess of understanding
the relationships within the diagram.

Any help or suggestions are appreciated.
