How to Prevent Line Break (newline) in a Book Mark appearing in a cross reference?

Hi, is there any way of stopping a book mark that contains a line
break (aka newline) from displaying the line break when it is cross
referenced.

I have some bookmarks in a large font of the form:

“Chapter 1
Introduction”

On two lines. But when I cross reference the bookmark in an ordinary
paragraph I’d rather not have the line break appear. Which is
currently does.
