Hello -
I've tried to research this problem, but must not be searching for the
wrong keywords.
I am using Word 2003 and Windows XP Pro.
What I am trying to "fix" is as follows:
1) Different people are mapping a drive (e.g., X) to different
directories on their machines, but from that mapping point "downward",
the directory structure is the same. For example, one drive X may map
to q:\something\username\dir and another user may have drive X mapped
to c:\mystuff\dir. But, the each have an x:\startdir.
2) In the Word document, they include in other files (Word Docs, Visio
files, etc).
3) But instead of the network drive path (x:\startdir\picture.vsd)
showing up, they get the UNC path (e.g.,
\\server\drive\username\all\dir\startdir\picture.vsd).
Is there anyway to "fix" Word to NOT use the UNC path but to use the
network mapping instead?
Thank you for your help.
