How to put a light grey background picture on a doc page?

Tom Stephenson

Assume I write a Word doc and want to put a light grey background picture
on the white background of a doc page.

How do I do this?

The text in foreground should have of cause priority and cover the background picture.

What if I want to drag the background picture from the default (centralized ?) position
a little bit towards the right side ?

How can I do this?

How can I stretch a background picture so that it fits completely to the width
of the page?

Hi Tom,

You can fill the entire page with a background picture, but I'm not sure if
that's what you want. Here's how to do it in Word 2007:

1. Click on the Page Layout tab on the Ribbon.

2.Click on Page Color.

3. Click on Fill Effect.

4. Click on the Picture tab.

5. Click on the Select Picture button and choose your photo.

6. Click OK.

Please let me know if this isn't what you wanted or if you have more
questions.

You can also insert a smaller picture, place it behind your text, and drag it
somewhere else:

1. Insert your picture.

2.Highlight the picture by clicking on it one time

3. Under the Format tab on the Ribbon, click on the Text Wrapping button in
the Arrange group. It has a picture of a little dog on it.

4.Click on Behind Text.

Your text should now show up in front of the picture, and you can drag the
picture around on the page.

To stretch a picture:

1. Highlight it be clicking on it one time.

2. Place your mouse arrow on top of one of the little squares on either side
of the picture. The mouse should turn into a double-headed arrow.

3. Press and drag your mouse until the picture covers the entire width of
the page.

Sorry for so many replies! I'm very new at answering these questions, and am
just learning how to do it. Thanks for your patience.
