Hello.
I would like to document an architecture for a complex engineering system
I'm working with.
It consists of a few subsystems (children of the parent system) and at a
lower level, components (children of the subsystem). It's very difficult to
understand the data flow and dependencies throughout the entire system
without some sort of graphical display. There are all sorts of buses, I/Os,
wires, etc.
What I'd like to do is be able to generate such a diagram without having to
do everything manually. I could certainly use the basic shapes and create
blocks with connection points for each of the data ports and signals between
each block, but it is very tedious and adding new ports requires me to move
the other connection points to make everything tidy.
Is there another means to do this? I briefly looked into the ROOM solution,
but it appears to be more oriented for software documentation.
Any help is much appreciated.
