How to re-use MS Office 2007 product key

Hi all,

I currently have MS Office with a genuine single license installed on my
laptop. And now I would like to install Windows 7.

My question is, am I able to remove or uninstall Office from my computer and
then install windows 7 and then reinstall MS Office without any problems with
Microsoft complaining that my license key is currently activated on another
computer. I only have one license key and therefore that worries me that I
will not be able to reinstall Office.

Any help on this matter would be awesome!

Thanks

Shouldn't be any problem - depending on when you last activated the software
you might have to use the telephone method of activation.

I am not sure which OS you are running. You might be able to upgrade Win7
over your current OS without uninstalling Office. Anyway, it depends on your
current OS too.

Hi pensio

I am currently running xp pro. So I believe that I won't be able to
upgrade?! unless i have Vista?! Which reminds me that I have a desktop with
vista that I plan on moving to win7!!

If you have Win XP then you are eligible to buy an upgrade version of
Win7 but installation will do a clean install. This means, you will
need to copy all your personal data on a DVD/Flash Drive before using
the Win7 DVD. you also lose all your application that are already
installed on your system. My personal opinion is that clean install is
the best method whenever you are upgrading to a new OS.

If you have Vista then you can do an "in place" upgrade" which means you
will be able to upgrade your system without losing anything.

To answer your specific question, you will be able to re-install your
Office 2007 on Win7. So don't worry because there is always a telephone
method to activate should this be necessary.
