How to read data from valentina db?

Hi Experts,

I've got a data source that comprises of 3 files as; somedb.dat, somedb.ind
and somedb.vdb which I guess belongs to a valentina database.

I'd like to know if there's anyone who has dealt with such data and was able
to import/parse the data form these files. And of course how.

Any help, code, pointers would be highly appreciated.

Thanks in advance.

I've never heard of "a valentina database." The file/database/spreadsheet
formats that Access supports are options in the File | Get External Data
dialogs. If the valentina database can not export in one of those supported
formats (which include text and XML), then you'll need to find or create a
translator program to change what you have into a supported rormat... unless
the data is, in fact, in fixed field or delimited text form -- in that case,
even though the file extensions are not ".txt", you may be able to use the
wizard to import it.

As .DAT is a very commonly-used file extension for whatever some application
considers "data", I'd suggest taking a look at that one, first. .IND might
indicate an "index". And, .VDB -- your guess is as good as mine, perhaps
definition/specifications?

Thanks Larry for your suggestions. I did a search on the three extensions
and ended up with this valentina thing. It is kind of interesting that they
letyou download the db but you have to purchase the GUI even to try! So
that's why I asked here if anyone has had such a case.
I will try the import.
