I backed up my Outlook Express emails (those .dbx files) on a DVD+R
disk. When I reinstalled the system and tried to bring back my emails,
every file was fine excecpt for "Inbox.dbx", which was not readable at
all. I tried to import from Outlook, no sucess. I thought maybe the
file was corrupted and I tried quite a few recovery softwares, such as
"OE-mail Recovery", "Advanced Outlook Express Repair", still no help.
One more strange thing I found is, when I used WinRAR to compress
inbox.dbx, it shrinked from 500M down to 200k, which surprised me a
lot. I compressed another good dbx file of similar size but it's
definitely not such small after compression. I don't know what
happened when running DVD burning. Does the inbox.dbx of 500M still
contain all the data or it's permanently gone? Do you guys have
similar experiences or good solutions to solve this problem? I am
almost desperate on this...
Thanks in advance
