how to reference the commandbars

i am using the webbrowser control
in it i am loading a word document
how do i refer to the commandbars.item(x) for that app

all my current efforts keep effecting the commandbars in the hosting
application (excel)
i've tried webbrowser1.application.commandbars
and webbrowser1.application.application.commandbars
and others

so--- host app is excel, which has a webbrowser control, which loads a word
doc,...and i need to hide the commandbars in the word doc
