How to refresh a working project with the data from the published?

E

Eric

The working project opened in MS Project and its published version are
different.
Is it possible to synchronize the working project with the current content
of the published version?
Let's say the users have entered their actuals in the published project
through PWA and now my working project doesn't contain those updates.
How can I refresh the working project?

We are using MS Project Professional 2007 and Microsoft Office Project
Server 2007.

Thank you for your assistance and suggestions.

Hello Dale,

Please confirm my understanding of your answer.
Do you mean there is no way to update/synchronize a working project with the
actual work from the published project.
Is this correct?

I thought the working project would be used to make updates to the project
plan prior publishing it thus would require the most current actual work as a
basis.
Is it possible to achieve this differently?

Thank you

Eric --

I am telling you that when you approve task updates from team members in a
project, the system puts the updated information directly into the working
project (stored in the Draft database), and not into the published project
(stored in the Published database). In fact, it is IMPOSSIBLE for the
Published version of a project to contain more recent information than the
working version stored in the Draft database. So, to confirm again, your
assumptions are totally incorrect. Hope this helps.
