Why won't registration form accept the product ID that is presented in the About box?

That function seems to be broken (still, again, whatever...).

All registration does is put you on the MacBU mailing list. Forget it.

That's the message I received after I entered my Office: Mac 2008 (Home & Student Edition" Product ID.

I checked my ID number and it is correct. How are we supposed to register thhis product?

As JE McGimpsey responded to the first post in this thread [but in my
terms]:

*Don't Bother!*

"Registration" has *nothing* to do with the operation of the software -
unlike the *Activation* required for MS Windows software. It's little more
than a marketing tool.

I suspect the problems you're all having to be caused by the current FUBAR
state of the ["new & improved"]Mactopia web site. Give it a rest, use the
software as desired, & get on the mailing list later if you choose to do
so - you can "register" at any time:)

Ring your closest Microsoft Office (or use the toll-free number). The
registration mechanism is broken...
