how to remove a menu button installed by another program

I stumbled on the procedure I needed. In Tools/Customize I selected the Menu bar and clicked 'Reset'. All custome changes were removed. The aforementioned menu button had been added by the program 'Ac t by Sage'. When I removed the program from my computer it left a trail of items that I had to remove manually.
