How to remove all trace of American english from a document?

Someone created a company wide template on a pc that had American english as
its Office default.
We are a British organisation and plough instead of plow, minimise instead
of minimize, etc.
Other than by retyping from scratch, how can I get rid of the US language
from this document?

Suzanne, helpful, but not a fix.
It is inserted chunks of American text lifted from other word documents that
would seem to be the issue here.
so I could go through with Reveal Formatting on, id the sections, Clear
Formatting, then reapply the desired Font/Paragraph/etc formatting.

No easy fix then?

No, as long as a different language can ride in on a single character,
there's no way to permanently extirpate American English. You just have to
keep using Ctrl+A, Tools | Language | Set Language from time to time.

Is sounds like you need to get rid of the US spellings in the template --and
any already created docs based on it. A macro that essentially does a series
of replacements should work for you. I use commercial software to do that but
I think I've seen something similar at an MVP's site. Sorry, but I don't
remember which. Perhaps you might get an anser in the macros group.
