How to Remove Duplicate Deleted Tasks from Project View in PWA

I have a project listing that shows duplicate tasks, most of which were
already deleted from Project Professional. The duplicate tasks have
notations of X's and exclamation marks, that provide detail text when hovered
over, saying "This task has been removed from the Project by [project
managers name]." or "This tasks was scheduled to completed on [date] but has
not yet been completed.". Even though the task was deleted and does not show
up in the project view from Project Professional, they do continue to show up
in PWA, from the Resources view under "View My Tasks" of the project. This
makes it very confusing for the resource to read and enter hours worked.
How do you remove those tasks so that they will not be seen by the resources
from PWA when they "View their Tasks"?

Highlight the deleted task and press "Hide". If the task was not deleted but
has remaining work, and the task is complete just zero Remaming Work and
submit an update.
