how to remove locked spreadsheet elements

Marty

Hello,

I have a spreadsheet and I want to remove some columns and other
elements but when I right-click on the top of the column the Delete
option is greyed-out.

Is there any way to get around this?

Thanks for your help!

In Excel earlier than 2007, click on Tools - Protection. If there is an
"Unprotect sheet", the sheet is protected. In 2007, click on Home and find
Format to the right. Click on Format and Protection. HTH Otto

I find it is best to keep a running list of passwords written down some
place safe. You can also protect a sheet without a password.

Protecting a sheet can keep errors from occurring while making it very easy
to make changes if necessary. I use passwords on my templates just for that
reason. I am not as interested in third party changes nearly as much as I
am interested in preventing errors.
