How to remove "other project plan tasks" that are appearing in a project plan?

From a previous posting..I got this response. Although none of my PM's claim
to have set up the dependencies.

But now my question is how can these "other project plan tasks" be removed?

Where are you seeing these other project plans? If you are seeing them in
the Resource Usage view, this is normal Project Server behavior. Refer to
the following FAQ to remove those other projects from the Resource Usage
view:

http://www.projectserverexperts.com/Shared Documents/ViewResourceInformationForActiveProject.htm

If you are seeing "ghost tasks" in your Gantt Chart view, that indicates
tasks from another project. You can determine which project contains the
external task by double-clicking the ghost task name, which will open the
other project. From there, you can break the link between the external task
in the other project and the task in your own project. Let us know if this
helps.

Thanks Dale --

I'm pretty sure the PMs were checking the "Load Summary.." checkbox as they
were connecting to MS Project Server.

Good morning Dale,

I have experience a probable similar situation like Renee. I am creating a
report based on one project and wanted to know "Who does What". However, the
report include some tasks from different projects.
The only visible link: Common resource- There is a resource that is assigned
to tasks in both project.....but my report should only show information on
the project that I asked for!!! The task ID for these "ghost tasks" is marked
-1D.

Your help will be appreciated,

Hi Dale,

I had all PM setup to automatically coonect in Project Professional and
could not see the "Load Summary Resource assignments" option. I then went
into Tools/Ent. Options/Microsoft Office Project Server accounts" and
selected the "manually control connection state". This allowed me to get the
prompt and the option I wanted to deselect.

Went in and run my report and got a "clean bill of health"based on the
single project!!! Thanks a million.

Note: The elaboration is not intended to you, but anyone out there who is
new to EPM
